Silver Buying in Freiburg

We buy silver, platinum and palladium at the daily spot price — cutlery, jewellery, bars, coins and scrap. Fineness checked on the spot, transparent margin, instant payout.

How silver buying works

Sell silver in Freiburg — honestly valued, paid out at once

At Zerin Gold we buy silver in almost any form: sterling silver (925), 800 cutlery, jewellery, investment bars, coins and scrap. You bring your pieces to our shop in central Freiburg, we check fineness and weight in front of you and quote a fixed price within minutes — free and without obligation.

The buying price follows the daily silver spot price. We determine fineness from hallmarks (800, 835, 925, 999) and, where needed, by acid test or X-ray fluorescence. From the pure silver weight we deduct an openly stated margin covering testing, refining and market risk — no hidden deductions.

Beyond silver we also value platinum and palladium: jewellery, bars and coins. These metals are far rarer than gold and silver and their spot price moves more sharply — all the more reason for a careful, same-day valuation. If you agree to the price, we pay out at once, in cash or by transfer.

What we buy

The precious metals we accept

Silver cutlery

Full canteens or single pieces, often 800 or 925. We weigh the silver content and properly discount filled handles or steel blades.

Silver jewellery & scrap

Chains, rings, bracelets, pendants — even tarnished, damaged or incomplete. Scrap silver keeps its full material value.

Silver bars

Bars from 1 g to 1 kg and above, from Heraeus, Umicore, Argor-Heraeus and other recognised mints — at the daily spot price.

Silver coins

Maple Leaf, Vienna Philharmonic, American Eagle, Britannia, Kangaroo, plus older circulation coins and collector silver. Bullion at material value, rare pieces at a collector price where applicable.

Platinum & palladium

Platinum and palladium jewellery, investment bars and coins such as the Platinum Maple Leaf or Philharmonic — valued same-day at spot.

Industrial & table silver

Silver granulate, workshop and atelier remnants; plated items are checked separately — fineness decides, not first impressions.

Transparent & lawful

Fineness check, fair margin, AML-compliant

Every valuation is transparent: you see the hallmark, the fineness, the pure silver weight, the daily rate and the stated margin. You know exactly how the final figure is reached — no haggling, no surprise deductions.

As a precious-metals dealer in Germany we are obliged under anti-money-laundering law (GwG) to check a valid photo ID above the legal thresholds and to document the purchase. Please bring your ID card or passport.

For every purchase you receive a detailed receipt with fineness, weight, daily rate and payout amount. As a family-run atelier in central Freiburg we value calm, honest advice — in German, English, French, Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Russian.

For the whole region

Frequent questions

Silver buying — frequent questions

Price, fineness, cutlery and payout — briefly explained.

  • How is the silver price set at purchase?

We use the daily silver spot price multiplied by the pure silver weight of your piece (by fineness), minus an openly stated margin. You can see the current rate on our prices page.

  • Do you also buy silver cutlery?

Yes. Cutlery is usually 800 or 925 silver. We weigh the silver content, discount filled handles or steel blades and value the pure material — whole canteens as well as single pieces.

  • Do you take platinum and palladium too?

Yes. We buy platinum and palladium jewellery, bars and coins at the daily spot price. Fineness is checked on the spot, just as with silver.

  • Does the silver need cleaning or to be complete?

No. Tarnished, damaged or incomplete silver keeps its full material value. Please don't clean anything — what matters is fineness and weight, not shine.

  • Do I need an appointment and an ID?

No appointment is needed; you can simply drop by. Above the legal thresholds we require a valid photo ID under the GwG — please bring your ID card or passport.
